IELTS is the high-stakes English test that is trusted by universities, governments and businesses around the world.

Two types of the IELTS test

There are two types of the IELTS test: IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training.

IELTS Academic test is for individuals who wish to study at university or college as an undergraduate or postgraduate student or if they want to gain entry into a professional institution.

The IELTS General exam tests your every-day, non-academic English for migration to an English speaking country.

Individual organisations have different requirements. Make sure you check which IELTS test the organisation you are applying to recognises.

PTE Academic is the world’s leading computer-based test of English for study abroad and immigration.

 The examination consists of four sections and is divided into three parts.

The sections in PTE examination are Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening.
